【摘要】:ThispartofISO639providesacodeconsistingoflanguagecodeelementscomprisingtwo-letterlanguageidentifiersfortherepresentationofnamesoflanguages.ThelanguageidentifiersaccordingtothispartofISO639weredevisedoriginallyforuseinterminology,lexicographyandlinguistics,butmaybeadoptedforanyapplicationrequiringtheexpressionoflanguageintwo-lettercodedform,especiallyincomputerizedsystems.Thealpha-2codewasdevisedforpracticaluseformostofthemajorlanguagesoftheworldthatarenotonlymostfrequentlyrepresentedinthetotalbodyoftheworld’sliterature,butwhichalsocompriseaconsiderablevolumeofspecializedlanguagesandterminologies.Additionallanguageidentifiersarecreatedwhenitbecomesapparentthatasignificantbodyofdocumentationwritteninspecializedlanguagesandterminologiesexists.Languagesdesignedexclusivelyformachineuse,suchascomputer-programminglanguages,arenotincludedinthiscode.
